I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Seattle is the most beautiful city in the world with no close runner-up, and I challenge anyone who says otherwise to a duel.
Since the mountain was out, I took my camera to the top of the Space Needle yesterday afternoon. I came down with 861 shots.
These are my favorite photos from the session.

I agree that Seattle is very beautiful, but I would put Vancouver BC right up there along with it. Pistols?
The entire Pacific Northwest (including Vancouver) is striking, but Seattle is a special case.
The Olympics, the Cascades, and especially Rainier make it unrivaled.
I accept your challenge on behalf of Orlando, “The City Beautiful.” I didn’t make up the motto, but there it is.
Orlando? Please tell me your being sarcastic.
Are you crazy? Orlando is beautiful, the way the sun shines on the 4 cannot be matched.
Please tell me you didn’t just write “your” when a literate person would’ve known to use “you’re.”
Very nice photos.
And really clear that day. I don’t recall ever being there when it was that clear.
It’s no Detroit, though.
And what’s up with all those people bundled up like they were on an Arctic expedition? Isn’t about mid-40′s there now? Hell, that’s shorts weather. Buncha PNW Pussies.
Most beautiful city in the world with no close runner-up??? Really you don’t think that’s maybe going a bit far? Most beautiful in the United States, maybe, whole world, I don’t think so. How about a city like Geneva, Switzerland or something? Hell I think San Fran or Portland if not more beautiful at least come in as a close runner up.

No.
I think Chicago has a nicer skyline than Seattle but Seattle has the mountains so I say:
1. Seattle
2. Chicago
3. Cal-Nev-Ari
Thanks for the pictures, keep up the good work.
In the United States? Quite possibly.
Others to consider in the world:
Barcelona, Spain
Marseilles, France
Palermo, Italy
Papeete, Tahiti
Santorini, Greece
Sydney, Australia
Vienna, Austria
Zurich, Switzerland
Many of those cities I have only seen in pictures. Of the pictures I have seen, my own opinion is that while nice, they don’t meet Seattle’s threshold.
Some of those towns have no skyline at all.
I’m not really into the old historical charm thing. I like skyscrapers, water, mountains, and glaciers.
I would also take Vancouver over Seattle. I agree that Seattle is beautiful, but a bit too crunchy for my taste.
Why don’t you guys google “America’s Finest City” and see what comes up!

You need to visit Calgary in a year or so when this is complete; http://www.thebowcalgary.com/
Norman Foster designed (his firm also designed the Gherkin in London, Hearst Tower in NYC etc.)and the nicest skyscraper currently under construction in North America (I presume).
Seattle is beautiful, I agree.
How about Tokyo, cooler mountain and cooler high rises. Plus they have a district that includes clubs with a full mock up of a subway car that you can pay money to go into and molest women. Seems like a real hoot.
No. I lived there and Tokyo is not a beautiful city. It is a fascinating place that I love, but overall it is not an attractive place. Odaiba Bay is nice and from Shinjuku you can see Mt. Fuji, although you cannot see both from anywhere in the city.
Nice shot of this great landmark.I’ve been up to the top a couple of years ago with my son on a road trip.
Maureen C sent me here to have a look at your site.
Cheers,
Pete from Vancouver BC
Being from Vancouver I’m partial to its beauty but Seatle is a close second:)
Your photos are great…thanks for sharing.
Aha… now I know why you moved to downtown Seattle. You have a “tower fetish”… Statosphere tower, Space needle… I guess your next move will be to Paris.

Don’t forget goats!
Having been to or lived in Vancouver, Calgary and Seattle. I agree with Rex Seattle wins and for me the topper is Pike’s Market, Pioneer Square and Belltown (check out Belltown Pizza)
