It’s where Kyra Sedgwick finally accepted Campbell Scott’s marriage proposal … before, you know, getting t-boned by a pickup truck and losing the baby. Perhaps if she had paid more attention to driving instead of ripping the X man, the entire thing could have been avoided. Women drivers.

Anyway, for more information about Gas Works Park, consult your local library. Or go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas_Works_Park

I love the place. One of the best views of the Seattle skyline and a really, really weird pipe playground for the sprogs. How can you go wrong?

As you can see from these photographs, you can’t.

Located only a half mile from the Fremont Troll, this place should be on everyone’s Seattle itinerary at least once.

  1. If they still do fireworks on Lake Union on the 4th of July, that is a great spot to watch them!

Have you been down to the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (Ballard Locks)? Be sure to go at least once when the salmon are running!

    1. Imbibe in your intoxicant of choice.

    2. Lay about in Summer on the Gaswork’s lawn watching the boats go by and enjoy a perfect Seattle afternoon.

Gaswork’s has been the traditional home of Seattle’s Hemp Fest. I think city hall has kicked them out recently. Pricks!

  3. Hands down the best place to watch sunrise in Seattle. The colors on the tall downtown buildings are spectacular.
