Wow …
J Mascis, singer/songwriter for Dinosaur Jr. and guitar player genius god is playing Ballard’s Tractor Tavern on April 29th, 2011.
The Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Boston gigs are full (hipsters love J but don’t let that stop you), so the Seattle gig not being sold out currently is a gift to the Puget Sound.
Apparently, this will be an acoustic gig instead of an ear-splitter, but honestly, most people would pay $20 to hear J read from the phone book. It’s a privilege just to be in the same zip code as this guy for two hours.
These dates are in support of his new Sub Pop release that just came out last week. I’ve not heard the new album yet, but I am going to load it up today.

If you don’t see this one, consider your alt.music cred officially revoked.

How well do you think a 12-year old would understand that I paid to go see J Mascis instead of going to see her first choir performance?
Rex, let us know how the show goes.
