Look, Up in the Sky …

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s an …….. ad for GEICO?

Yesterday afternoon, a small airplane dragged an advertisement for the insurance company around the Downtown Seattle Skyline, and even went so far as to cross directly into the active landing path for Boeing Field.

At one point, the advertising banner was separated from a landing 737 by less than 1,000 feet.

I’m going to go on official record by stating:

What in the hell are these guys thinking?

Perhaps I’m missing something, but this looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Not to mention, a plane pulling a yellow banner with a photo of a talking lizard really makes the beautiful Seattle skyline look ghetto. Like some low-brow Daytona spring break backdrop.

It’s not appropriate here, and I don’t think this obnoxious stunt will have the intended effect. Quite the opposite really.

Dear GEICO, please stop.

Geico IS an insurance company. Maybe they were trying to cause an “accident” to show off what they do?
