I’m standing beside Michael Wang’s memorial at Dexter & Thomas. It’s a beautiful and touching sight. The sign reads simply “A Bicyclist Was Killed Here”.

so close yet so far away ….
like another livestock bound for market….
senseless human acts, senseless impressions of soul and spirit lost .. forever..
Michael, we love you ….. all your passion, your work, your wisdom, your questions, your creativity, your fancies, your loves, your babies, your naughty habits, …… all wending their way into the elixir that lies beyong earthly perception … Solace & serenity to you … Pen X
Another conscientious soul lost. Way too many bicyclists being hit, injured, and killed these days. I didn’t know Michael, but have a friend that was his co-worker. Michael loved to ride his bike to work, cutting down on emissions, getting some exercise. We should all be able to do the same without the threat of injury and/or death. May Michael’s sacrifice bring change and improvement to bicycle safety around Seattle and other communities. So sad that Michael had to pass this way and thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest in peace Michael and let those with power to improve bicycle safety not rest until the streets are made safe.
We are still seeking the driver of the SUV that struck and killed Mike Wang. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward.
You can find information about Mike, the description of the SUV, links to his amazing photography, the fund for his family, and details about the reward here: http://fatalhitandrun.webs.com/
Thank you for spreading the word and keeping Mike in your thoughts.
