Space Needle 12th Man Flag
Today, my hometown football team beat my hometown football team.
The Seahags prevailed over the Foreskins, which means that tickets to next year’s games, as well as team merchandise, will almost certainly increase.
Being the ‘Hags 12th man is a little like being an abused spouse. The team doesn’t give a shit about me, and they rip me off whenever they can, but I keep coming back for more, ever loyal to the end.
Still, I guess it’s a little exciting when the home team wins, and it’s one of the few times in my life I can pretend to have “won” anything.
So, in your face other team’s fans. Due to my stellar play as the 12th man, “we’re” going to the playoffs.
Yes, yes, in all of your faces!
All I know is that the Space Needle is flying the 12th Man Flag but did not fly the Rainbow Flag and that is racist or something.
Football = Violence Against Men. I know its hard to let go of the sport so many of us men have been reared on to showcase mens inherit strengths. I know its hard to give up a sport that gives us a feeling of male solidarity when watching together in the stands or sports bars. But we gotta face the facts and recognize the pattern of injuries like concussions that are sustained in pursuit of fame and fortune and sex. After Alzheimer’s and Dimentia (at 19 times the rate of non athletes!) take away our heroes of the football field just guess who are the undeserving ones left laughing and profiting in there wake dancing on the graves in high heeled shoes while waving around huge diamond rings? How can we take pleasure in “winning” when this Violence Against Men is going on?
